Making the World a Better Place Through Tikkun Olam
Temple Kol Tikvah has many social action activities to help those less fortunate in our community and around the world. From food drives for the local food bank, to interfaith activities with local churches to helping to try to eliminate the ravages of Darfur to collecting coats and blankets for local homeless shelters to participating in Habitat For Humanity.
Events being planned for the remainder of the year include an E-Waste Drive, Jewish World Watch Walk for Darfur and the Revlon Run Walk for Women.
In order to be successful, the participation of all of our temple members, young and old is important. Members who get involved to help can sometimes do a lot and sometimes not so much. Any time donated will be welcomed with open arms.

Imagine LA and Temple Kol Tikvah Partnership Underway!
At Yom Kippur morning services Rabbi Offel spoke about the problem of family homelessness and an incredible organization called Imagine LA: Imagine a city where no child sleeps on the street.
Kol Tikvah now has a committee in place to partner with Imagine LA to sponsor and mentor a family who is homeless into long-term housing and self-sufficiency. The committee chairpersons and leader/mentors met with Imagine LA for a homeless sensitivity and mentorship training meeting in December. In January we will be matched with a homeless family in the San Fernando Valley.
It's not too late to join us! This is just the beginning and we still need a lot more volunteers! Please call the temple office (818) 348-0670, ext. 215 to get involved!
