Welcome to a fun way to get involved in our temple! We offer three youth programs for social, religious, and educational experiences. KTTY and Jr. KTTY events all include dinner. And all of our programs incorporate group bonding, tzedakah, and spiritual connections in fun and exciting ways. Jr. KTTY - for 3rd-6th GradesJr. KTTY meets five times throughout the year. We do programs at the temple, go out for miniature golf, laser tag, or other fun activities. This is a great way to get kids connected to the synagogue and help build the kind of youth community that lasts forever. - January 22 - Miniature Golf - February 26 - Laser Tag - April 22 - Krav Maga - June 3 - Water Slide/Bouncy Castle Year End Party! KTTY - for 7th-12th GradesKol Tikvah Temple Youth is a member of the National Association of Temple Youth (NFTY). It is a fun, rewarding and important Jewish experience for teens at Kol Tikvah. Events consist of exciting opportunities for social interaction with other KT temple teens, outside friends, and are even sometimes combined with other local area NFTY groups and programs. - January 29 - Jump Sky High in Woodland Hills - March 4 - Laser Tag in Sherman Oaks - May 6 - TBD Tzedakah Teens - for 8th-12th GradesThis is our exciting new Youth Philanthropy program. This innovative program is being piloted in synagogues around the country to engage Jewish youth in philanthropy and making a real positive change in the world. Over the course of the year, teens come together to learn about philanthropy from a Jewish perspective. Their efforts are focused on creating a philanthropic organization which will raise money and interact with a variety of charities. Using methods of consensus-building and mutual respect, they work as a group to determine their desired areas of focus, to whom they will give money, and how much each applicant receive. This is an incredibly meaningful program with long-reaching benefits to the participants and the community at large (not to mention a great addition to any college application or a fun way to earn community service hours for school). The program culminates with a brunch where recipients of grants are honored and the community can celebrate the hard work of all participants involved. - January 22 - 12:30-4:30 - February 12 - 12:30-3:30 - April 22 - 12:30-4:00 - April 29 - 12:30-4:00 - May 6 - 12:30-3:30 - June 3 - 11-1 We hope you will get involved.
