Cantor Orly Campbell

July 1, 2022: We are very excited to welcome San Fernando Valley-native Cantor Orly Campbell to the Kol Tikvah family. In addition to her work on the bima, Cantor Orly will oversee the music program, prepare students for b’nai mitzvah, officiate life cycle events, and add her neshama — her spirit — to our community.

Cantor Orly comes to us from Temple Beth David in Temple City, where she served as Cantor for the last three years. She began her cantorial path in 2019 after graduating from the Academy for Jewish Religion California (AJRCA). She received her Master’s degree in Jewish Sacred Music and was ordained as “Hazzan and teacher in Israel”. Over the years, Cantor Campbell has had many notable experiences leading High Holy Days services in Los Angeles at Sinai Temple, Desert Outreach Synagogue, Wise Temple, and Beth Shir Shalom. Prior to her time at Temple Beth David, she was an intern at Temple Akiba and before that, she worked at Vista Del Mar, a residential treatment center for emotional, social, learning and developmental disabilities, where she shared her voice, passion and empathy working with children and families.

At Kol Tikvah, her hope is to teach, guide and inspire with the power of music and prayer and elevate the spiritual experience at services and life cycle events with her heart, head and neshama — soul.

Cantor Orly is originally from Northridge and attended Van Nuys High School’s Performing Arts Magnet. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Vocal Arts from California State University, Northridge (CSUN) in 2006.

She and her husband, Adam, are the proud parents of Joshua, Emma, Benjamin, and Madeline. We are very excited to welcome them into our family.

We welcome you to listen to a recording of her singing “Eli Eli,” and also subscribe to her cantorial channel on YouTube, where you can listen to even more music, songs, concerts, and services that are accessible to her virtual friends.
