Paula Hoffman Bio

Paula has close to 30 years of experience in the early childhood field as an ECC director and kindergarten teacher.  Paula actually started a kindergarten class here at Kol Tikvah 23 years ago and is thrilled to be returning to the ECC.

The ECC has been a Reggio inspired school along with the commitment to the Outdoor Classroom.  As a certified outdoor classroom instructor, Paula has conducted trainings for other schools and teachers, and will be continuing this part of the Kol Tikvah program.  Additionally, she has been to Reggio Emilia, Italy, has been inspired by the approach for many years, and is eager to continue working with children and teachers in this way.

Paula received her Master’s Degree in Jewish Education, which included a certificate in Jewish Early Childhood Education from Hebrew College in Boston in May 2020.  Her thesis focused on the outdoor classroom through the Jewish lens.

Paula has three adult children and five amazing grandchildren.  She lives in Woodland Hills, is an avid gardener, loves to cook, is a life-long learner, and is a health coach.

As you can imagine, there is much to do in the ECC to get it ready to welcome children and their families.  If you would like to volunteer in any way, please email Paula at eccdir@koltikvah.org and she will gladly take you up on your offer to help.
