Goats on the Frontlines: Transforming Wildfire Mitigation and Ecological Restoration presented by Pat Bates, PhD, president of the California Audubon Society dba San Fernando Valley Audubon Society and long time Kol Tikvah member. Pat will explore the innovative use of prescribed goat grazing as a highly effective, eco-friendly solution for wildfire prevention and land management.  Participants will discover how targeted goat grazing efficiently clears hazardous fuel loads, creates critical firebreaks, and controls invasive plant species. Prevention of destructive fires benefits birds, preserving their food sources and habitat.
