When people say to me, “I don’t believe in God,” I typically respond, “What God don’t you believe in?” This leads to a conversation where the speaker has one definition of God and one only, and they disagree with it vehemently. But, Judaism is not limited to one definition. God has been defined and redefined by rabbis, scholars, and theologians over the past 3000 years. To put it simply, there is no singular definition of God found with Judaism. In this class, we will study different God models in order to understand God in a variety of ways. Hopefully, there will a model that allows you to access your Judaism more fully.
